'The Gunk painting came about as a tongue in cheek study in banality and a celebration of objects I use regularly. It elevates something thats not meant to have an inherent beauty although it’s not lost on me that the branding is decent - timeless even. The loosely structured, unfinished style I’ve used for this painting puts the can in an almost romantic setting that I hope stirs some sort of emotion with the viewer.. '
